Statement by Chancellor Hemenway on death of student Connor Meigs

University of Kansas Chancellor Robert Hemenway made the following statement today in response to the death of Robert Connor Meigs, 19, Omaha sophomore. Meigs died Dec. 24 from injuries sustained in a Dec. 20 car accident in Omaha that also injured his twin brother, Douglas. Meigs was enrolled in the School of Fine Arts majoring in sculpture.

"On behalf of the entire KU community, I want to express my profound sorrow at the death of Connor Meigs. We are all deeply saddened at the sudden loss of this extraordinarily talented young man and offer our condolences to his family and his friends."
