KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A noted expert in obstetrics and gynecology will be the featured speaker for the 29th Women's Health Care Symposium, set for May 6 and 7 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., and sponsored by University of Kansas Medical Center Continuing Education.
Anita Nelson, MD, of the Harbor-University of California-Los Angeles Medical Center in Torrance, Calif., will headline a list of presenters.
This annual health care symposium provides updated information and skills to women's health care professionals, enabling them to improve the quality of care for women. The symposium is designed for advanced practice nurses, nurse midwives, clinical nurse managers, physician assistants, allied health professionals and primary care physicians. Continuing education accreditation will be available to physicians and nurses.
Topics will include new contraceptive methods, working with teens around issues of sexuality, migraines in women, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, clinical nutrition, breast risk assessment and screening, Pap smear guidelines, perimenopausal issues and health promotion strategies, and laughter as an antidote for stress.
