Spencer museum at KU to hold benefit for children's educational programming

LAWRENCE -- The Friends of the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas will present "For the Love of Art," a benefit for children's educational programming at the museum, starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. The black-tie-optional event will provide vital resources for the museum's docent program, the backbone of the museum's extensive programming for K-12 visual literacy. The cost is $100 per person.

Festivities begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the Central Court, plus a special "Cupid's Tour" of romance- and love-inspired art in the galleries. At 8 p.m. the party will move across the street to the Kansas Union ballroom for dinner, a silent auction and dancing to the sounds of the Majestics Rhythm Revue.

For reservations and ticket information, please contact Sandra London or Lynn Buehler at (785) 864-0141, fam@ku.edu or sglondon@ku.edu. Please RSVP by Feb. 12.
