Congressman Dennis Moore to meet with students, speak at KU March 5

LAWRENCE -- Third District U.S. Congressman Dennis Moore will dine with a group of students and give a public lecture March 5 at the University of Kansas as part of the "Students Learning through Leaders" series.

Moore will eat lunch with 15 students at noon before attending the open forum at 1 p.m. in Alderson Auditorium of the Kansas Union. The luncheon is free and open on a space-available basis to interested students through the Student Union Activities office. The lecture series is sponsored by the KU Memorial Unions Programs Department.

Moore also will be named the Conservation Legislator of the Year by the Kansas Wildlife Federation at the beginning of the forum.

A 1967 KU graduate, Moore is in his third term in Congress. He serves on the House committees on the budget, banking and financial services, and science. Moore, a Democrat, represents all of Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and parts of Douglas County, including the eastern side of Lawrence.
