KU Endowment names 16 new Chancellors Club Scholars for 2004-05

LAWRENCE -- Sixteen University of Kansas freshmen have been designated Chancellors Club Scholars for 2004-05.

The Chancellors Club, the major-donor organization at the Kansas University Endowment Association, finances the renewable scholarships, which recognize National Merit finalists who have outstanding high-school records.

Eleven students from Kansas and five from out of state are this year's honorees. Including these recipients, 228 KU students have been given the awards since the Chancellors Club originated the scholarships in 1979.

Kansas recipients for 2004-05 are Crystal L. Arrowsmith, Sedgwick; Michaela E. Catlin, Salina; Danielle A. Coffyn, Prairie Village; Christina J. Conrad, Bucyrus; John M. Kuhn, Jamestown; Clayton A. Moore, Newton; Charles J. Pye, Lawrence; Daniel N. Shaw, Shawnee; Gavin J. Snider, Derby; Amanda L. Williams, Wichita; and Andrew Lake Wooten, Mission Hills.

Out-of-state recipients are John F. Cross, Kansas City, Mo.; Alan J. Elliot, Lee˙s Summit, Mo.; Rebecca A. Moore, Fayetteville, Ark.; Gianna I. Short, Edmond, Okla.; and Rebecca J. Watts, Omaha, Neb.
