MEDIA ADVISORY: KU, Gov. Sebelius to announce major NSF award to create research center

LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas and Gov. Kathleen Sebelius have scheduled a news conference on Monday, April 11, to announce a major award from the National Science Foundation to create a new Science and Technology Center. The news conference will begin at 11 a.m. at the Spahr Engineering Classroom, 2 Eaton Hall, at KU. This grant will be the largest federal award given to KU or to any university in Kansas.

WHEN: 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, Spahr Engineering Classroom, 2 Eaton Hall
WHO: Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, KU Chancellor Robert Hemenway, members of the Kansas Board of Regents and other senior KU administrators. Scott Borg, director of the Antarctic science program in the NSF's Office of Polar Programs in Washington, D.C., also will attend.
