Communications veteran takes over new position at KU Endowment

LAWRENCE -- A communications veteran with 26 years of experience in media and marketing has been named senior vice president of communications and marketing at KU Endowment, association President Dale Seuferling announced today.

Rosita Elizalde-McCoy, of Overland Park, took over the newly created position today. In the new job, Elizalde-McCoy will direct public relations, marketing and special events for KU Endowment.

Elizalde-McCoy served as executive director of public relations and marketing for Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo., for 15 years before coming to KU Endowment. Her experience also includes communications work at Johnson County Community College, the Dallas Independent School District, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Tandy Corporation. She began her career as a copy editor at El Mundo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

" We are excited that Rosita Elizalde-McCoy will be bringing her wealth of experience in strategic communications to KU Endowment," Seuferling said.

KU Endowment is the independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fund-raising and fund-management foundation for KU. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is the oldest foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university and one of the largest.
