Ann Coulter to present Vickers Lecture March 29 at Lied Center

LAWRENCE -- Ann Coulter, best-selling author and conservative political commentator, will present the J.A. Vickers Sr. and Robert F. Vickers Sr. Memorial Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at the Lied Center at the University of Kansas. The lecture is free and open to the public, and reservations or tickets are not required.

The Vickers family invited Coulter to be the 37th speaker in the Vickers Memorial Lecture Series. The lecture series is named for J.A. Vickers Sr., KU alumnus and founder of Vickers Petroleum Co., and his son Robert. The lecture series began in 1969 and has included such notable presenters as former President George H.W. Bush Sr., former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Kenneth Starr.

Coulter is a lawyer and author of three New York Times best-selling books, including her most recent book, "Slander: Liberal Lies about the American Right."

Coulter is the legal correspondent for Human Events and writes a syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate. She is a frequent guest on many TV shows, including "Politically Incorrect," "Larry King Live," "Hannity and Colmes," "The O'Reilly Factor," "American Morning with Paula Zahn," "Crossfire," ABC's "This Week," "Good Morning America" and "The Leeza Show." She has been profiled in TV Guide, National Journal, Harper's Bazaar and George Magazine.
