Attorneys to receive legal updates at KU conference June 9-10 at Dole Institute

LAWRENCE -- Area attorneys will convene in Lawrence in June for an annual conference briefing them about changes that have recently occurred in the law.

" Recent Developments in the Law" is set for June 9 and 10 at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas. Topics will include Kansas Tort Claims Act, constitutional torts, constitutional law, water law, bankruptcy law, legislative update, disability law and ADR/mediation. Two ethics classes also will be offered, including legal ethics in the law firm setting and in using ethics experts, and current legal ethics cases. Faculty are professors from the KU School of Law; Terry Bullock, judge for the 3rd Judicial District; and Mark Shaiken, of Stinson, Morrison, Hecker, LLP.

The conference will provide up to 13 hours of continuing legal education credit, including four hours of ethics credit.
