KU gallery to showcase multimedia designs by seniors in design March 6-11

LAWRENCE -- An exhibition of multimedia works by 19 seniors in various programs in the University of Kansas Department of Design will open March 6 and continue through March 11 at the third-floor gallery in the Art and Design Building.

The show will include works in ceramics, metals and textile design from students in these programs as well as works in a variety of media by students in the visual art education program. The Department of Design is one of three academic units in KU's School of Fine Arts.

The opening reception for the show will be from 1 to 3 p.m. March 6, and the gallery will be open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. The rest of the week's show hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Visitor parking is available at the Allen Fieldhouse Parking Garage.

The gallery is located at 1467 Jayhawk Blvd., on the northeast corner of 15th Street and Naismith Drive. For additional information, contact the Department of Design at (785) 864-2951.
