Black & Veatch, KU Continuing Education to broadcast engineering courses worldwide

Jim Lewis, Executive Vice President and Director of Production at Black & Veatch Energy, and Kathleen McCluskey-Fawcett, Senior Vice Provost at the University of Kansas, sign a statement of support for developing engineering management courses for Black & Veatch's energy business professionals.

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas Continuing Education and Black & Veatch Corp. have agreed to develop courses in engineering management for Black & Veatch’s energy business professionals that will eventually reach all their global offices.

The curriculum includes courses such as project management, construction management, marketing and sales, and finance and accounting. The Engineering Management Program at the KU Edwards Campus in Overland Park and the KU School of Engineering have collaborated on the courses and will provide instructors.

The program will offer live instruction at Black & Veatch’s Overland Park location and will be electronically transmitted initially to Black & Veatch regional offices in Ann Arbor, Mich., and Houston, Texas, where its employees will interact with KU instructors. Future classes will be available to all global offices of Black & Veatch’s energy business.
