Selected KU offices to have extended hours as fall semester begins

LAWRENCE — Some offices at the University of Kansas will offer extended hours Monday, Aug. 14, through Thursday, Aug. 17, to accommodate new and returning students during the first week of the fall semester.

Offices will be staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on those four days. Normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participating offices will track the number of students they help. This will help assess student needs for future KU office openings.

The following offices, with locations or contact numbers, will be open for the extended hours:

— Academic Achievement and Access Center, 22 Strong Hall
— Campus phone operators, (785) 864-2700 (automated directory assistance available 24 hours a day)
— College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ Student Academic Services, 109 Strong Hall, (785) 864-3500
— Computing Help Desk, (785) 864-0200 (available 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.)
— Department of Student Housing, Suite DSH in Corbin Hall
— Freshman-Sophomore Advising Center, 126 Strong Hall
— New Student Orientation, 213 Strong Hall
— Office of Admissions and Scholarships, KU Visitor Center
