KU Alumni Association Tri-State Chapter to host golf, picnic Aug. 14 in Pittsburg

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas alumni from southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri and northeast Oklahoma are invited to the Tri-State Chapter Golf Outing and Dinner.

The golf begins at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the Crestwood Country Club course, 304 W. Crestview Ave. in Pittsburg. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

Special guests for the event will be Tim Jankovich, assistant coach for the KU men’s basketball team; John Hadl, former two-time All-American KU football player and assistant athletics director; and Pat Henderson, former KU assistant football coach and assistant athletics director.

Alumni and university friends from the following counties are invited to attend: Allen, Bourbon, Cherokee, Crawford, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson counties in Kansas; Barton, Bates, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Douglas, Greene, Henry, Howell, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Vernon, Webster and Wright counties in Missouri; and Craig, Delaware, Mayes and Ottawa counties in Oklahoma.

The golf outing will follow a four-person scramble format. Prizes include pro-shop credit, KU vs. Kansas State University basketball tickets and autographed memorabilia. Proceeds will benefit the association’s Alumni Excellence Endowment, which provides funds for increasing KU activities throughout the state and nation. Registration is $75 per golfer for Alumni Association members and $85 for nonmembers. Individual registrations are welcome.

Guests who don’t wish to golf are welcome to attend the dinner. The cost is $10 for Alumni Association members and $15 for nonmembers.
