Top graduating KU students carry school banners in May 21 commencement

LAWRENCE — University of Kansas students who excelled academically were selected to carry banners for KU’s 13 schools and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences during commencement May 21.

As banner carriers, the students led their school groups in the traditional processional march down Mount Oread into Memorial Stadium.

Banner bearers joined university officials on the platform as candidates from each school were conferred their degrees.

The banner carriers are listed below by hometown, major and school, parents’ names and previous schools attended.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
From Sedan
Kimberly Margaret Hadley, bachelor’s degree candidate in respiratory care, School of Allied Health, daughter of James and Margaret Hadley; Sedan Senior High School.

DOUGLAS COUNTY
From Lawrence
Sue Ellen Cliff, master’s degree candidate, School of Social Welfare; bachelor’s degree in social welfare from KU.
