Bank president and CEO to meet with media in conjunction with KU lecture

WHAT: Media conference in conjunction with KU School of Business’ Anderson Chandler Lecture Series

WHEN: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28

WHERE: Adams Alumni Center, 1266 Oread Ave.

BACKGROUND: Andrew J. Jetter, president and CEO of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka will meet with the media before appearing as the School of Business 2008 Anderson Chandler Lecturer.

His lecture, titled “Looking Ahead: The Future of Housing Finance in America,” will address crucial issues such as the current mortgage crisis and the effect it may have on lending practices in the future.

The School of Business’ 2008 Anderson Chandler Lecture will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Lied Center. The lecture is free and the public is invited. Tickets are not required.

Jetter has been employed by FHLBank Topeka for more than 20 years, including as general counsel, senior vice president, executive vice president and chief operating officer before his appointment as president and CEO in 2002.

Under Jetter’s leadership, FHLBank Topeka has experienced sustained success with a long history of strong asset and earnings growth. FHLBank of Topeka is consistently in the top tier of the 12 FHLBanks in terms of profitability, expense management and dividends. In the last five years, assets have grown more than 50 percent and retained earnings have grown more than 400 percent.

Before joining FHLBank Topeka, Jetter was in the private practice of law and an instructor in management and finance at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He holds a law degree and a master’s of business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
