LAWRENCE — Three creativity experts from the University of Kansas will offer strategies to parents of “out of the box” thinkers during a workshop titled “Square Pegs in Round Holes.”

The event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St. The event is free and open to the public.

Speakers will be Barbara Kerr, the Williamson Family Distinguished Professor of Counseling Psychology; Reva Friedman-Nimz, associate professor of curriculum and teaching; and Daniel Hammond, a doctoral student in counseling psychology.

Discussion will cover how parents and friends of the highly creative should handle challenges and how to help tweens and teens maximize their potential.
