Media advisory: Dedication of Shankel Structural Biology Center to be April 15

WHAT: The Structural Biology Center at the University of Kansas will be named for Delbert M. Shankel, chancellor emeritus and professor emeritus of microbiology, in honor of his 50 years of leadership, teaching, scholarship and service to the university.

WHEN: 4 p.m. Thursday, April 15

WHERE: Atrium of the Structural Biology Center, 2121 Simons Drive, on KU’s west campus

WHO: Speakers include Shankel; Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little; Jill Docking, chair of the Kansas Board of Regents; and Jeff Aube, professor of medicinal chemistry and director of KU’s Center of Excellence in Chemical Methodologies and Library Development, which is housed in the Structural Biology Center.
