KU announces 2011 Homecoming theme, steering committee

LAWRENCE — The University of Kansas Alumni Association has selected 16 students to serve on the 2011 Homecoming Steering Committee.

Nikki Epley, director of reunions for the alumni association, and Stefani Gerson, coordinator of student programs for the alumni association, are advisers for the steering committee. The alumni association began oversight of Homecoming activities in 2006. Before then, KU’s annual Homecoming tradition, which began in 1912, had been coordinated by campus organizations.

The theme for Homecoming 2011 is “From Lawrence with Love.” Homecoming week begins Saturday, Sept. 24, and ends Saturday, Oct. 1, with the football game in Memorial Stadium. KU will play Texas Tech University.
