Public Service Career Fair set for Oct. 25
LAWRENCE — The Public Service Career Fair will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas.
The Public Service Career Fair allows KU students who are interested in a government career to meet recruiters from federal, state and local government agencies and their direct-support agencies. Some of the employers that will be represented at this year’s career fair will include the National Park Service, U.S. Courts and U.S. General Services Administration.
A complete list of employers currently registered for the event can be found on the University Career Center website. Booth space is still available, and interested employers may register there as well.
“The Public Service Career Fair is a fantastic opportunity to meet a variety of employers from governmental agencies who are specifically looking to recruit KU students,” said David Gaston, director of the University Career Center. “With the federal government planning to hire 30,000 entry-level college graduates over the course of the next year, now is the time to connect with the organizations that will be hiring.”
Throughout October, the University Career Center will offer the following workshops, all at the Burge Union, to help students prepare for the Public Service Career Fair:
• Jobs in Federal Service, 4 p.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6.
• Washington, D.C., Careers and Internships: Inside Tips, 3 p.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17.
• Make your Resume Stand Out at the Public Service Career Fair, 4 p.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18.
• Making the Most of the Public Service Career Fair, 4 p.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.
